Millie Herpin uses her expertise in textile and graphic design, to provide an atmosphere for provocative visuals. By using an eclectic palette and cross-disciplinary designs, she tells evocative stories from unusual perspectives. Presented at OBJECT Rotterdam, Bliss.bis immerses the viewer into a dreamlike space through large fabric displays; the iconic ‘bliss’ image background of Windows XP is re-invented and digitally printed. To go against the classical idea of good design, Millie embraces mistakes, and rejects the notion of a perfectly controlled nature of impersonal hills and fluffy clouds. Bliss.bis is the unexpected great escape from our virtual desks. The response to the mainstream is only amidst the oneiric.
