Can you understand a landscape?
During Femmie’s long hikes through inhospitable landscapes, thoughts and theories are of no use. Everything is about acting practically and sensory perceptions. It is those sensory experiences that lead to her sculptures. She gives her sculptures a seductive, sensual and daring skin and uses traditional sculptural values like tactility, mass, inside – outside, gravity and volume. The works connect what is human, cultivated, with the natural. They play with the paradox of the metaphysical landscape versus the triviality of human existence.
