Things to explore

In Rotterdam you can feel the vibes of people who are working on making it into such a vibrant city. Entrepeneurship, innovation, local products and of course art and design can be found all around town. The OBJECT headquarters at the HAKA building are located in one of those areas where you can experience this creativity and innovativeness first-hand. One of our neighbors in the Vierhavensstraat is the impressive studio of famous designer Daan Roosegaarde. Around the corner is the Keileweg where the studio of Joep van Lieshout and the inspiring AVL Mundo area are located. A 15-minute walk to the Marconistraat brings you to studios of well-known artists and designers like Richard Hutten, Wieki Somers, Makkink&Bey and Sabine Marcelis. After having visited the studios (see our Programme) you can buy and enjoy local products at the shop and restaurant of Uit je eigen stad (Marconistraat 39), the Netherland’s first city farm. Delfshaven, another nice area between the HAKA building and the Euromast is full of cafes and restaurants. You can try a typical 010 brewed beer at Stadsbrouwerij The Pelgrim, have a very Rotterdamsch dinner at cafe Verhip, try some homemade food at the picturesque restaurant Bij Loes or indulge yourself with fresh fish at restaurant Machinist. Enough to explore before or after your visit to OBJECT Rotterdam!
